ABOUT US
Maxi Nautika (we, our) is a small business managed by two lovers of the sea: Croatian-Czech married couple: Katerina Gobo (Cizlova) Doctor of Law from Prague, and Korado Gobo professional skipper and instructor. Korado finished Marine communications at Maritime Faculty, Rijeka.
Katerina holds a Croatian Skipper C license. She is an excellent hostess, loves the sea, and is involved in all parts of the business. Katerina is a fun, cheerful, and smiling person who will do her best to make your stay fun and useful at the same time.
Korado is a holder of the Croatian Certificate of Competency for Yacht Master Category B (Yacht up to 500 GT) issued by the Croatian Ministry of The Sea, Transport, and Infrastructure, as well as RYA/MCA Yacht Master Offshore Certificate of Competence with a commercial endorsement for a sailing vessel with an Auxiliary Engine, issued by The Royal Yachting Association/Maritime and Coastguard Agency (United Kingdom).
Maxi Nautika provides services regarding the organization of individual tailored made sailing tours and holds skipper training. Korado is an instructor for Croatian-certified licenses held by Maritime Center Mare (Rijeka) as well as an instructor on practical skipper training.
Maritime Center Mare
Maxi Nautika entered into a close partnership and cooperation with one of the first and most experienced and certified training centers for skippers and gaining yacht licenses in Croatia, Maritime Center Mare LTD. Maritime Center Mare fulfills the standards required by the STCW convention (Standard of Training, Certification, and Watchkeeping- STCW 95. STCW 78 as amended) for the qualification structure within the global shipping industry. The training programs' teaching syllabus and learning objectives meet the STCW Convention for seafarers and are approved by Croatia’s Ministry of the Sea, Transport, and Infrastructure.
Professional fishing experience
Korado was a professional fisherman for 20 years, and a professional skipper for 10 years. He was a long time professionally fishing mostly at night, navigating often also 100 NM per night searching for fish in the fog, poor visibility, between the rocks and shallows of windy Varney and the nearest Islands. Many times, escaping storms and live the dangers that fishing man's life brings.
Since 2012 Korado has been working as a professional skipper on sailing boats and catamarans. This is the second year that he has worked as an instructor for he Maritime Center Mare , Rijeka on the courses for obtaining boat and yacht licences.
Korado has been participating regattas since he started sailing on Optimist when he was 8, followed by class Europe and Laser. In the 80s and 90s he was training the kids in the local sailing club for a few years. A few years he was holding his windsurfing school. Regattas are still one of his passion and biggest love.
Korado was a long-time president of Sailing Club Kvarner Rabac, and skipper of the club’s racing boat Alba 2. He was participating on many famous regats including Barcolana and La Veleziana, Croatian ORC Championship regattas including the ORC World Championship held in Cres Croatia.
Maxi Nautika was maintaining and preparing sailboats for summer. We want to share this experience with You, so you can understand the vital things you have to know regarding the vessel.
Courses are held in Croatian language but can be tailored in English or other foreign languages upon request.
